About Our Anthologies
One of the most popular requests from our survey was to produce a Books&Beyond Anthology to showcase local indie authors. After much debate, and sharing our thoughts on previous anthologies we’d purchased, we think we’ve come up with something authors can easily participate in, and we think readers will love.
We’re doing it a little differently because a) We want to provide value for money for readers 2) Like everyone, Selina and Vivienne are time poor and 3) We want it to be a potential way for authors to make money too.
So, we’re going to be up front about what we’re doing.
1) The art work and typesetting with be done by Selina and Vivienne and a small % of the production cost of each book going to cover this.
2) We want satisfied readers which means we will only accept complete stories, not chapters from a book, and all entires must be edited and proofed. There is no theme as we want people to provide something they feel showcases them.
3) There will be one print run of each anthology. Authors included int he anthology will be able to order copies to sell at production cost, and will be able to pick these up at the Books&Beyond Event. They can then sell at any event they want.
4) You do not have to be attending the event to enter the anthology.
5) Books&Beyond will be including the anthologies in pre-orders, and promoting the anthologies as part of the event. There will be a signing page for each story to encourage readers to speak to the actual authors.
6) Applying to be included in an anthology does not guarantee acceptance.

Autumn Anthology
In order to have the Autumn Anthology ready for the April Market we will need all contributions by the end of January 2026. If you have something ready for publication now, or that will be ready by the end of January, then please apply.
1) Poems
2) Flash Fiction (Less than 1,000 words)
3) Short stories (Less than 10,000 words)
If your story is a little larger, we may still consider it, depending on how many entries we get.

Spring Anthology
We have a little more time until the September markets, so this is an opportunity for authors to who don’t have something ready to go to participate.
At the moment all we’re asking is that you tell us you want to be considered for the anthology, what you’re thinking of writing, and confirming you can have the final, edited copy to us by the end of June 2026.
Again, we will have 3 categories of entries:
1) Poems
2) Flash Fiction (Less than 1,000 words)
3) Short stories (Less than 10,000 words)
